Bad Battery
I bought this exact same battery once before and although it was the ‘bottom of the barrel’ on the quality scale, it was for an older computer and I thought if I could get a few years out of it (which I did) then I was ahead of the game. Well the 2nd time wasn’t the charm! The ‘new’ one took a full week (no exaggeration) to reach a full charge. I knew it wasn’t the computer’s fault because it had charged-up the old one in just a few hours. I went through every possible troubleshooting procedure and even got a new A/C adapter, all to no avail. I finally bought another higher-quality battery from Amazon and scheduled a return for this piece o’ crap (just in the nick of time). The new battery (a GHU brand) charged-up immediately and has worked flawlessly ever since. Sometimes it does make sense to pay a little bit more to avoid such headaches. This particular battery is a real time-consuming pain-in-the neck to replace, in a Dell XPS 14 L421X Ultrabook, so you don’t want to have to do it on anything approaching a regular basis…

DOA, almost
This is a review of the first battery I received. I’m waiting for a replacement to arrive. This battery installed fine in my Dell XPS L421X. It was 46% at installation, did not charge higher. I drained it to 5%, then attempted to recharge — it reached 11%, no more. Then I ran the battery to zero — and the laptop died, would not run even when plugged in. Conclusion: the battery’s internal controller is bad. Returning to Amazon. For now, I reinstalled the OEM Dell battery. (Unfortunately, Dell no longer sells a replacement battery.)Jan 12: Today I received the battery for the DellL421 that I ordered via newegg.com. Installed. Works perfectly. But Amazon has not refunded either of the TWO batteries I purchased from them and returned to the Amazon counter at Whole Foods. I suspect Amazon never will refund them. Neither worked correctly.

I had it installed by a technician. It worked.

Not worth it
After about a week of testing, I can honestly say this was a waste of money. The battery does not chrge beyond 78% even after leaving it overnight, and confirming laptop power parameters. When using solely on battery power, it will barely last 1 hour of continuous use.The worse part is I cannot find any other replacement options so I am stuck with it. I am not able to replace the laptop at the moment, so my advise is do not purchase this battery, I should have paid attention to the other reviews before buying.

did not hold charge the first week
The physical built is good, better than other chinese average and feels almost as sturdy as the original. But the fact that it dropped charge from 100% to 65% once unpluged (ie less than a minute) was just unacceptable. It means the battery was old and could not hold charge.Immediately returned and bought from a different seller.
