Misleading “AI” – These Are Just Earbuds in a Cheap Glasses Frame
To put it simply, these were not that great. The product’s marketing as “AI Smart Glasses” sets an expectation that the reality comes nowhere near meeting, and the overall experience is a significant letdown. From the moment you handle them, it’s clear that these are a definitely a cheap pair of glasses. The materials feel flimsy and low-grade. This lack of quality extends to the software. The functionality with the required “app” was honestly pretty poor; you can tell it was quickly put together without much thought for the user experience. The biggest issue, however, is the misleading premise of the product itself. I imagined these glasses to be able to translate by itself, using some form of onboard AI. That is not the case at all. The glasses are completely dependent on a constant connection to your phone, as the phone is the “main brain” for all functions. The glasses just relay a message to your ears like any pair of earbuds would do. To be perfectly clear, there is no writing or anything on the lens of the glasses. There is no visual display of any kind.At the end of the day, it really is just glasses with earbuds built in. The problem is that most modern smartphones can already do what these glasses claim to do, often with much better software. You are not getting any new “AI” functionality here. So if you want to wear glasses just because, that’s another story. But as a piece of smart technology, this falls completely flat.
