How to Connect My Smart Plug?
1. Download the Smart Life App and register for an account.
2. Power on the plug and ensure that the indicator is flashing.
3. The Smart Life App will automatically detect the plug.
4. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the connection process.
What to Do When Connection Fails？
1. Unplug & hold 5s to reset.
2. Reconnect via AP mode (watch the video guide).
3. If not connecting, check for “SmartLife-xx” hotspot in AP-Mode. If not found, reach out to us for a new one. If the hotspot is found, check your router settings.
How do I use the plug to work with third-party voice assistants?
Connect the plug to the Smart Life App. Then, link your third-party service account (Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings) on the App. Alternatively, activate the “Smart Life” skill in the third-party voice assistant’s App.

One of the few 5Ghz options out there, and super simple to install
My internet provider recently upgraded me to a new router, which is technically a much better model, but the new model operates on a ‘random’ 2.4 or 5 Ghz frequency. According to my provider, it ‘automatically detects when to switch between the 2.4 and 5’. I find this somewhat interesting, as I always believed the difference between the two is that 2.4 is slower speed but much better range, 5 is super fast, but shorter distance. How on earth is the router going to know when I need to switch between those two? I have a relatively large property , I’m not a real high-speed junky and therefore prefer 2.4, so I can connect devices at a bigger distance. But maybe it will all work in the end. Problem I have though… is that most of my smart plugs are only capable of working on the 2.4 bandwidth. And as the default preferred mode of the new router seems to be 5Ghz, I simply cannot connect them anymore, as there is no way to ‘fix’ the bandwidth anymore.This is where these ‘Eightree Smart Plug for 5GHz & 2.4GH’ come in. After a bit of research, I learned that a lot of ‘similar’ (and cheaper!) plugs don’t actually use WiFi, but Bluetooth. Which is great for short distances. But average bluetooth range is somewhere around 33 feet. Not a lot, especially if you factor in walls and other obstructions. And certainly not enough for my situation. So if you’re looking for a true WiFi option, there’s just not that many options out there, unless you want to invest serious money.But these plugs are true Wifi, can handle both 2.4 and 5 Ghz and are really not that expensive.One more selling point: ease of installation. Wow. Really wow. Maybe it’s because I already had the Smart Life app installed (and am very familiar with how it works). But all I had to do:1) Plug in the smart plug into an outlet2) Open up the Smart Life app3) Confirm the new device. The app and plug automatically recognized each other without any interaction from me.Love these plugs. Defo recco to buy.Now I just would love for 5Ghz to extend its range!! Come on clever folks out there, you can do this! 🙂

Easy Bluetooth setup
Additional to my current pieces. Easy to add them to my existing contol panel. Recently received an update for them. Was worried all my settings would be reset so chose to run after all units were dormant. Had to do each unit individually but experienced no loss of programming. Since having them has had to reconnect a couple of times. Regardless, happy with the performance and control.
