Update.
Update: Should these lights stop working with Alexa, as mine did, I suggest first unplugging Alexa for a few seconds. That solved my problem. These lights are fantastic. They work as advertised. Not only can you call out to Alexa to turn them on, turn them off, or to dim or brighten them, you can do it right from your phone. Pull up outside your home, go to your phone and turn on all the lights inside. It’s that simple. Make sure when you purchase them that you put a checkmark in the box to have them linked to your Amazon/Alexa account. It makes it so much easier to program them. It only took seconds for Alexa to recognize the lights. These lights can literally be a lifesaver.

LOVE
The ones that work, are working great. But there’s one that won’t sync. In the trash.UPDATE: after figuring out how to reset the lights, got them to work!UPDATE2: I’ve had to reset the bulbs twice since purchasing them. They just stop working and I have to delete and re add all the bulbs in my app. I have them on a routine with my Alexa, so that’s where the frustration comes in…. Have to redo my routines as well because it “can’t find the devices” until I re add then.

If you like wasting your money and your time, these are the smart bulbs for you!
They lured me in with a special offer and I got my first bulb for 99 cents. Everything went great, I even ordered more. I loved them at first. And then I didn’t. Why? Because suddenly out of the blue they disconnect and stop working. And then you get it set up again, if you even can get it set up again, and then it might work again for a day, a week, a month, or even a year…but sadly it’s usually a very short period of time that it stays connected and you’re definitely not going to get a year. I have wasted more of my time, life, and money trying get these bulbs to work. Flip your switches 5 times and they blink so you can set up. Flip your switches 10 times and it re-sets. Supposedly. The Sengled app works like crap. I’m currently trying to set up my hall lights (yet again). The Sengled wifi doesn’t show up in my list of available wifi. Now I’m getting a message that “Some brand setups are temporarily unresponsive. I’m out of the return window now. I’m hoping these bulbs die before I do so I can order reliable smart bulbs. I may start drinking heavily and just kill the bulbs myself and call it a day. #sengledisnotyourfriend6.29.2021 And there go the office lights. Worked this morning, then 2 of the 4 lights in the room stopped responding. Now it’s all 4. Now time to carve out and hour or two out of my life to fix them…again 🤬7.31.2021 the gremlins are back. This week the lights in the hall, the office and bedroom decided to stop working. I don’t have time to deal with this, AGAIN, but if you enjoy wasting your time constantly resetting things then I highly recommend that you buy these.9.30.2021 the hall lights haven’t worked in months no matter what I try. The office lights work, then don’t, then they magically work again. The nightstand hasn’t worked in a few weeks and won’t reconnect. I hate these bulbs! Funny how all my Kasa smart plugs have ZERO issues, I’m going to see if they make bulbs too and get those and be on my merry way. So, it’s official now, with ZERO regrets, I am finally giving up on these bulbs. They are a nightmare and a huge time suck on your life. But by all means should you have nothing better to do with your life and money, then you should definitely buy these, they will keep you busy. DO NOT BUY THESE BULBS! And folks, that is my final answer.12.14.2021 Once again I can’t begin to tell you how much I hate these bulbs! I finally gave up and bought Kasa dimmable bulbs. Easy set up, work great. Buy Kasa unless you like wasting your time (A LOT of your time!) on trying to get the Sengled bulbs to reconnect after they magically stop working. And even if you can get them reconnected you’ll go in to the Alexa app and see that “device is not responsive”. These things are trash, DO NOT BUY THESE!!!

Loss of connection after 4 years
Lasted 4 years with very few issues. Now the lights will not connect with the hub, wifi, or Bluetooth. I have a mix of hub required and non-hub bulbs from Sengled, the non-hub are still going after 3 years with no issues.

Have Alexa Easy Install
I’m so happy that I found these! I already have Alexa so I was able to set them up within 5 minutes and that includes taking them out of the box. . No new set up with a wifi bulb. So happy!

I’ve been using these bulbs for 5 months now and have had no problems with them. Super easy to install (it’s just a lightbulb, how many people does it take to screw one in? lol) and detect through my Amazon Show(s). I know some reviewers have said that these bulbs have stopped working after sometime but it may be the strength of their Bluetooth that is affecting them from working properly. I installed one bulb in my living room, one in my home office and a Amazon receiver switch for the dining room LED accent lighting and all are about 1-15 feet away from an Amazon show in my home and they all work great. I LOVE the convenience of turning the lights on with my voice commands (“Alexa, turn on the office light.”) and when going to bed at night, can just give the voice command to turn off all the lights at once (“Alexa, goodnight”.) You can also control these lights from your Alexa app and it doesn’t matter where you are in the world; as long as your home’s Amazon Echos are online. I can turn my lights on from the work office or when I’m about to arrive home to make my house safe. One last thing to note is that if you use these lightbulbs, you need to leave the light fixture on. For example, if you put a smart bulb in a lamp, that lamp needs to be on to power the lightbulb, even when you don’t have the lightbulb turned on. This allows the bulb to “listen” for Alexa. You can still manually turn the lamp on and off but to use voice commands, you’ll need to leave the lamp on, and turn the bulb off through Alexa.Aside from detecting the lights through the Alexa app during the initial installation, there’s little to no programming. Simply install bulb, turn on light, let Alexa detect and give each lightbulb a specific name (Dining Room Light, Office Light, Living Room Light, etc.) and THAT’S IT. You don’t even need to recite the name for Alexa to understand. If you use Amazon Echo at home, you NEED to get these light bulbs. I can’t tell you how many times I found it convenient to turn lights on by using voice commands, like if I’m upstairs at night, I can give the command to turn on the downstairs lights before I even go downstairs. It probably sounds miniscule but these smart bulbs do es indeed save you time and effort.

I have these and I am really happy with them.BUT you must have a newer echo. I had one of the first generation dots and randomly in spring 2022 (but there must have been a software update) the bulbs wouldn’t work. Then I noticed it would not play music either. No you do not need a hub. You screw in the bulb and say “Alexa find new devices”. I set up mine one at a time and it was easy. It took longer to take off the ceiling light covers.

Really easy to pair, works great but for some reason about once at mth all my devices lose connection? “Device unresponsive “ this is a pain.
