Best Outdoor Speaker EVER – Period.
I was going camping in the infield of a NASCAR Race with a pile of friends; my old Rocker bluetooth speaker was on it’s last legs and ambient noise at this type of venue is SUBSTANTIAL. Researched and decided to pony-up and buy a pair of these Gen 3 Turtlebox thingies because of the advertised volume and the claimed true stereo sound (yeah, right). OMG! You can actually FEEL the quality of these things when you start opening up the box, the packaging, the user manual, the materials of the speaker itself, EVERYTHING had been thought about completely. I charged them up and headed off on a four hour drive to the track.Initially, I was only able to get one speaker to connect to my iPhone. But the sound and volume was AMAZING. I tried and tried to “pair” the other for the stereo experience but just couldn’t get it. The next morning I looked up Turtlebox on the innerwebs and found a customer service number. Texas, they open at 10 EST. I call them up, wait for about 30 seconds and BAM a real person from Texas answers! He waited for me to get both speakers turned on and my IPhone ready and walked me through the pairing process in about a minute. Turns out I was pressing the pairing button a bit too long. OK, let’s hear this stereo. I put on Manfred Mann’s “Blinded By the Light” and was absolutely blown away! Perfect stereo and now double the volume! It’s very rarely that I am so impressed with a new purchase. I’ve worked in manufacturing for nearly 40 years and generally evaluate and critique everything to death (just ask one of my ex-wives). I can’t think of any way they could make this product better. Their pricey, yes, but worth every penny. Save up for one if you have to. You won’t be disappointed. IMO Turtlebox will go down in history as an iconic brand like Levi’s, Harley-Davidson, Ray-Ban, and TAG-Heuer.

Need a Bluetooth boom box to take on/off a boat? This one is a rock star for us
Superb product. I have a specific use case, so I’ll try to keep short and to the point. I needed this for boat use. Specifically for 24 ft tri-toons we reserve and use at a boat club (lake). So it needed to be portable (not too big), waterproof, and with good sound to play via Bluetooth Samsung phone & streaming subscription. First it’s solid but not to heavy to carry. Second it sits rock solid on the deck in the bow (w/ bungee) like a veteran sailor. Plenty of power to last 4-6 hours on boat (we dont stay out longer). No hassle at all the get working. And I have zero worry about the errant wave/splash that might get it. I’m also pleased to report that its solid construction lasted a dozen trips Summer 2025 with noooo problems. Not cheap but as they say, buy once, cry once. But worth it for us – completely.

This thing is worth the money.
I got this to replace my homemade cooler speaker that is about 15 years old, I was worried about it not being loud enough since it was only 1 6×9 but that is not the case. I made a cooler 15+ years ago to take on float trips and it was getting to the point it was just to big to carry around so I wanted something smaller and lighter that still packed a punch, I have heard great things about turtle boxes at fly fishing expos so I thought I would try it out and I am not disappointed. Is it as loud as my cooler with 2 6x9s and 2 6.5s connected to a 1000w amp? No, but it is loud enough and is smaller/lighter so it is easier to move around in the boat when needed and the microphone input is fun to have around when hanging out at sand bars. The battery life is where this really shines, I can listen to this thing at near full volume for ~10 hours. When it comes to water proofing this thing can handle the worst. The one float we took it on it down poured for about 5 hours and it kept on trucking, I have also used it in the pool on a floaty and even when it got knocked off in to the water it just kept playing to the point were a couple of the kids thought it was fun to point the speaker into the water and listen to it underwater.I didnt think i would care about the strap loops on the side but they have really come in handy, when I am in a raft I can attach the Turtlebox to the D-loops of the raft and secure it. This works great on float trips since you can point it outside of the boat so you can still listen to music and still be able to carry on a convo inside the boat.Overall if you are in the market for a rugged speaker I highly recommend this one, It is expensive for what it is but in this case the adage “buy once, cry once” does apply.

So good. Went and bought a second one
These little boxes are unreal for sound and quality. I put them in my 74 beetle because I didn’t want to wire in a stereo. And the party button is awesome. The sound is rich and loud.

For large group and large social gatherings, this beats Sonos Move
I’ve been using a Sonos Move for pickleball tournaments I’ve been hosting and it was ok for a while but seemed to get distorted on the higher volume levels. I bought this to try to alleviate this and I exceeded my expectations so much so that I bought another one to make a stereo pair. These are way more loud than anyone should need. If you are cranking these at full volume you are a menace to society. They sound great and last a long time. I ran mine for 4 hours the other day and it had only lost one of 5 bars. I don’t need to float but cool that it does. Also, I hate it when people bring music to the beach. That’s what headphones are for. But I digress. Great speakers!

Best Investment for Outdoor Sound
Out of all of them, buy this one. This is the one all the heavy outdoor enthusiasts use, and they love them also.

we’ve only used it once so far. but my husband is obsessed. its got amazing sound quality, and battery life lasted really well. he’s going to be using it for a whole weekend for a bachelor party coming up – so that will really be the test. is directional sound (great for if you only want it a certain way), but you can just lie it on its back to face the speaker up to get overall sound.
