Everyone knows maintaining a healthy barrel is important. Keeping it clean, lubricated, and ready to shoot loads is common knowledge, but did you know vigorous shooting comes with its own hazards?This is where this ring comes in. Slide it onto the shaft of your barrel, do your thing, and it changes color when you’ve gone from “good tempo” to “too much! danger!” This is important not just for maintaining accurate shots during long sessions, but also when you’re putting your package away, as damaging your bag or sac from a hot barrel is never a welcome feeling.Price is right, stays where I want it, works well and without issue and can accommodate different thicknesses, and after all is said and done it keeps me aware of when I’m ready to move to the next stage (usually, the recovery period.)

Pleasantly Surprised!
So I put this rubber band , actually more like a rubber wedding band, on my SCAR 20” .308 and made a run to the range, honestly not expecting much. I have what I know to be a very accurate surface mount thermometer (HVAC) and I used it to monitor barrel temperature during several very slow strings. I was amazed to watch this thing change colors several times as I hit 130F and back to original color within 3-4 degrees below. It’s $2K to replace this rifle barrel when it gets shot out which will inevitably happen. Keeping the barrel temp under control religiously extends the life expectancy 2 fold or better (plenty of data out there to back that statement up). Although it feels like a high price tag when you look at it on the web, this turned out to be a great product and I’m ordering several more, well worth it. Hope this helps some folks out.

Doesn’t do well stretched but CS was amazing
I originally got this for my boyfriends rifle can (2”) and it was nice for the first 10 rounds. It changed color from brown to bright orange after the first mag which was reassuring. When he was on his 3rd mag, we noticed the band has snapped off and flew somewhere towards the range. While it was disappointing- we did push the band to its capacity.Customer service reached out and was amazing! They even refunded me for the band. They listened to my experience and reassured me that the band is not designed for rifle cans just yet! However- they are working on it!! I’m super psyched to get another one once the bigger bands come out!!Wonderful experience!
