Fabulous fun and can be used to teach some general science concepts.
These were fabulous fun and also could be used to teach some general science concepts. Toys are cheap and not meant for a lifetime, but the assembly and play were great. Screws and wiring are TINY – will require an adult. AA Batteries required.

Great for 10 year old
Absolutely adorable STEM toys. The directions are simple enough for kids to follow. I will say you’ll probably want an adult nearby to help with tightening the screws all the way without them stripping the metal. I’d say the quality of these are great especially for the price. My daughter who’s 10 loved building all of them on a rainy day. They’re small enough but not too small. I also appreciate the extra parts.

Cute!
Bought as a present for a 6 year old boy that loves science and engineering. This was such a cute set and he loved it!

Fun project for kids (with some help from adults)
I bought the “STEM Kits for Kids Crafts 6-8 8-12” to build with my granddaughters. Overall the sets were well and the parts were somewhat pre-sorted to help identify which were to be used for different steps. The instructions are fine for an adult/instructor but I think they would be very hard to follow for the targeted age group. My only real complaint is that the screws used are VERY small and difficult to install. You are only putting the screws into plastic, but the screw heads are small and the provided screwdriver requires a significant amount of pressure to get the screws started and not strip out the screw heads. Even with a good screwdriver, the screws are difficult to install. If I were building the kit alone, it would have taken about 15-20 minutes the first time through. With my 6 year old granddaughter’s help, it took about an hour. We both found the build to be fun and the kit was an excellent complexity level to keep her interested without becoming overly frustrated.

These kits work!!!
They really work! I got these as a brain-break for kids during tutoring. Every one really works. I would not recommend for manually-challenged kids, though. The first graders couldn’t handle it. One student is a 2nd grader who still grasps his pencil in a fist, and he could not even begin to do this. My students who did best were 3rd-graders who had no manual issues (only reading issues, which is why they came for tutoring. And this made a great brain-break after intense reading and spelling sessions.)

The screws are very very tiny. But it comes with a magnetic screwdriver
Love this for my son!! Him and his cousin did two together and my son is doing one by himself now. Only issue is the wheels on one hit the propeller so it dosnt go forward well.

Super tiny parts
Great ideas and once they are built – mostly working. (The solar-powered robot didn’t work for us.) Great ideas (wind powered solar powered, glider, object avoidance, and tank) but I’m marking down as 3 stars because the parts are JUST so, so, super tiny that it takes more manual dexterity and more grip strength than a 6 year old as labeled (that was our gift recipient) had. It was a good challenge for an adult, and even then the parts are just too small. I am a petite person with tiny fingers and fingernails to hold the tiny pieces together, but even then the 1mm “short screws” and 2 mm “long screws” were near impossible to screw in. But if you like challenges that takes ~1 hour per robot to build, back-breaking patience (literally), and don’t mind repetitively dropping the screws (because they’re so tiny!), then this is a decently priced project because when it all finally comes together you will feel an immense sense of relief – which may sometimes equate accomplishment for some.

Huge hit! Boys ranging 8-14 all enjoyed
Gave these to my nephews for Christmas, to keep them busy and doing something to use their brains and they were a HUGE hit!!! Favorite Christmas present that year.

My daughter completed one so far and the motor isn’t strong enough to engage motion. She has become discouraged to attempt another after the time she had put it
